The battalions of the lost join the parade.
Leading them off is a Major with no face.
Carrying the colours the sergent major stands tall.
He steadies the flag with unseen hands.
He marches steadily though you cannot see his legs.
Behind him stand in immaculate ranks
the soldiers,sailors,airmen,civilians.
Those who went and never returned.
The battalions of the lost
who have yet to come home.
